About the team and the role:

We are looking for an experienced product marketing leader to come lead and build our product marketing team. This leader will partner with a passionate team of product, engineering, design and marketing storytellers focused on creating an experience that encourages the consumption of the written and spoken word. The PMM team will champion the voice of our customer and develop GTM strategies to reach and engage them. This team will also oversee integrated marketing campaigns that bring our Scribd published ebooks, audiobooks and content to life.
More about the team:
PMM team sits at center of marketing, product, design, user research and engineering and is responsible for the increased adoption and engagement of our products and features. This is a new team at Scribd and part of your role will be to educate the organization and build out the product marketing function.

Responsibilities/What you will do:

Lead, coach and mentor team of product marketers while working to build strong cross-functional relationships with marketing, product, analytics, design and engineering partners
Proactively, opportunistically and consistently provide market, competitive and user insights
Develop segmentation that is actionable and leads to increased subscription conversion
Drive innovation and differentiation across the bundle of products that we offer
Translate brand positioning and drive segmentation, pricing, and messaging work throughout the product experience
Partner with product to develop strategies and tactics to increase engagement and retention
Develop marketing strategies to educate users and subscribers on the benefits and value of the product
Own full-funnel go-to-market strategies for new and existing features and products
Collaborates with each marketing channel to evaluate and soundly guide their independent planning strategies
Working proactively to be a thought leader in understanding of our market, customers, and product

We’re looking for/Requirements:

8-10 years of experience in product marketing
Proven track record of successfully leading, influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Have a growth mindset and strong desire to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.

Experience in growth stage companies and experience in launching large scale products in existing and new markets.

Ideally, you have/Bonus points:

Experience building out a new function
Knowledge of the publishing and/or content marketing industry

At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. San Francisco is our highest geographic market in the United States. In the state of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $159,000 [minimum salary in our lowest geographic market within California] to $236,500 [maximum salary in our highest geographic market within California].
Outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $131,000 [minimum salary in our lowest US geographic market outside of California] to $224,750 [maximum salary in our highest US geographic market outside of California].
We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, competitive equity ownership, and a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
